SFX

I done this with makeup to Paula the other week and just thought I would share. Xx

Wigs

This is a photo of Paula's hair after I prepared it for a wig! After I don't this I put a stocking cap on her.

Task 4

Here is a list of some films thats makeup inspires me

1 - Men in black 3

SFX makeup artist guru Rick Baker has once again worked his magic, and there is even more fun aliens this time around. This  photo also shows that, as expected, Jemaine Clement‘s villain has some creepy peepers hiding behind his aviator sunglasses!

2 - Pirates of the Caribbean: On stranger tides

Joel Harlow crews up for Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides as the make-up department head and practical creature effects supervisor, as well as Johnny Depp's personal make-up artist.

3 -  Alice in wonderland

The make up is really over the top in this film which I love except from alice's make up because she is a young innocent girl so her make up is really quite minimal. I love the snow queens make up because they have made her look really white (as snow) and darkened her eyebrows with really red lips which make them stand out.

4 - The dark Knight

The picture on the left is out of a book of paintings by Francis bacon and this was John Caglione jr (Make up artist) insperation for the jokers make up. He said "That book became my bible in designing and executing the various clown looks in the movie". The Joker’s character is all makeup and prosthetics, John done the Joker’s makeup looks and Conor O'Sullivan and Rob Trenton (the film’s prosthetic makeup artists) created the scars.

5 - Beetlejuice

Ve Neill (born Mary Flores) is an American makeup artist. She has won three Acadamy Awards, for the films Beetlejuice , Mrs. Doubtfire and Ed Wood  She has been nominated for eight Oscars total.

Task 3

Q1. What were your expectations on starting the course?
A - I knew we would be doin a little bit of hair as well as makeup but i didnt realise we would b learning how to prepare the hair for wigs and fit wigs which i am really happy about and doing well.

Q2. What are your initial thoughts on JWC and the Media make up course?
A - My inital thoughts on james watt college is its very big with lots of different and diverse people and media makeup course is really fun interesting and at times funny and horrible looking (SFX)

Q3. What is your funniest moment of college life so far?
A - My funniest moment is probely seeing everyone wearing the stocking caps when preparing the head for a wig because it makes you look bald.

Q4. What is the most interesting thing you have learned or learned how to do so far?
A - The most interesting thing ive learned so far is how to do the cuts and bruises in SFX and make them look realistic.

Q5. Who is your make up idol?
A - My make up idol is Billy Brasfield, better known as "Billy B" hes worked for Lady GaGa, Mariah Carey, Beyonce, Tina Turner, Debbie Harry, P!nk, Sheryl Crow, Missy Elliott, Mary J. Bilge, Yoko Ono and Dolly Parton and the list goes on as well as working on music videos, and fashion magazines hes worked on a lot of celebs for red carpet events.

Q6. Why do you want to be a MUA?
A - I would like to b a make up artist because even tho I dont put make up on everyday when I go out I like to put on lots and try new things and all my friends always said I should do something like this and think it would be really fun.
